That is how the local Chinese refer to the 1989 Tiananmen incident. I don’t agree with the criticism directed at the Chinese government for their forceful way to end the incident. What other options are there? Let the students take over?

I remembered I was at a hotel in Singapore with my parents when the tension was building up and then exploded into the 6 4. I remembered seeing reports on the TV but wasn’t matured enough to take much notice back then.

Took a taxi to Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) in the Haidian district of Beijing. Just like most of the sites in Beijing, this place is huge.

Strolling on Chang’an Jie at night. Chang’an Avenue is the road directly before Tiananmen gate and to the north of Tiananmen Square. It is a major road in Beijing and historically significant too. This is part of the area where the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 took place
