Fish in spicy ‘Ma La‘ soup. The ‘Ma La‘ flavour originated from Sichuan. The main ingredient is a type of pepper known as Sichuan pepper or ‘hua jiao‘ (literally flower pepper). It has an unusual taste which is a little tangy and numbs your mouth and lips.

Preferred the City outlet because they had more single person serve options. Maybe it could be due to we were there during lunch and here during dinner and they have a different set of menu for lunch and for dinner.

Lunch with colleagues at Porgie & Mr.Jones, about 5 minutes walk from the office. Didn’t have my camera with me today so had to make do with the mobilephone camera.

From the rather unusual menu, selected toasted Padiani with prosciutto, tomato, seeded mustard mayo and emmental cheese (which we were told when asked, was a blend of cheddar, tasty and another type cheese…couldn’t recall the third cheese), served on a wooden chopping block.
