Lunch at Doncaster Westfield foodcourt. Moroccan burger from Grill’d.

A little common sense to share. When you are on your own at the foodcourt and there are not many seats available, never order your food to ‘have here/eat in’. Otherwise, you’ll be going around with your tray of food with the possibility of nowhere to sit. Always order as ‘take-away’. It’s a lot easier and if you really can’t find a seat, then at least you’re not stuck with the tray in your hand. There are many people out there without common sense.

Today’s purchases include -
Stainless steel pots
IMG_0751

These pots were chosen because the inside is stainless steel and not non-stick material
IMG_0753

While inspecting the pots in their boxes, I overheard a Malaysian or Singaporen woman (judging from her accent) in the next lane, telling her friend and two teenage children “Jamie Oliver also not bad…this one good.” Then they walk passed me and saw me selecting the pots. This is their conversation about the pots that i was selecting:

Woman – “Scanpan also not bad…see so cute.”
Her friend – “Which one you think nicer ah?”
Woman – ” This size is okay already. This one can cook soup. Enough already. How much?”
Her friend – “$149. The pans also quite nice.”
Woman – “Wait for sale…will be…$100.”
And they went on and on and on…that was only as far as I paid attention to.

She has sixth sense? She can tell how much exactly the discounted price will be prior to a Sale? If she had said “will be cheaper”, i wouldn’t be commenting on this sentence of hers. And followers don’t develop their own selective instinct or individual taste. They see someone else looking at a certain product and only then do they realise the beauty of that product.

Was looking for a bag for work but nothing caught the eye except this one, which isn’t that suitable for work. It also comes in black with white embroidery but this is obviously the better choice.

Benefit cosmetic. The packaging was rather whimsical.

Japanese gadgets

The tree shaped humidifier and desk lamp looks simple and sleek. It’s a pity that the power supply in Japan is 110v, a lot lower than Australia’s 220-240v. A lot of pretty and sleek Japanese electical goods can’t be used in Australia. The Elecom memory card reader can, though.

Chocolate Mud Cake

Just a little something…Australians, particularly the older generation, refer to dinner as tea. For example, they would say “I have to cook tea tonight” or “I have people coming over for tea tonight”. It can be quite misleading before understanding what it meant.

Breakfast this morning

Weet-Bix Multi-grain bites and milk by Pura.

Like the tune a lot. Nujabes is actually his name, Jun Seba written backwards. How creative.

Todays ~ 22 & 23 Oct 2009

Lunch today was…
Asam Laksa at Old Town Kopitiam, not far from work. When you feel hungry yet have not appetite, something sour is good. And Asam Laksa is not complete without prawn paste, the black sauce in the little dish

Heading onto the freeway. A shot tower in the distance. Ball bearings was made inside in the older days. The liquid is dropped from the top and forms a ball when it reaches the bottom. Not sure if the tower is still being used now.
